His family announced the news through a statement on his Instagram page, expressing gratitude for the support and prayers during this challenging time. “Holden passed away this afternoon surrounded by his family and friends,” they shared.
Trent is survived by his fiancé, Brie, to whom he proposed last December. While the cause of his death has not been disclosed, it was previously revealed that he had been hospitalized in an intensive care unit earlier in the week.
The family’s statement also mentioned that details about services and a celebration of life would be provided soon. They expressed their deep appreciation for the outpouring of love and support from friends and fans.

Tragically, he passed away before making his first-team debut, although he had played six matches for the Union’s second team in MLS Next Pro.
