Wes Andersons Whimsical World Comes to Life in London Exhibit
Over 600 items from Wes Anderson’s films will be displayed in a London exhibition. The Design Museum in Kensington will host the retrospective starting on 21 November this year.
Anderson is known for his pastel colors, symmetry, and highly detailed, quirky visual style. Items include costumes, props, and models from films like Grand Budapest Hotel and Royal Tenenbaums.
This marks the first time these objects will be exhibited in Britain, curators have confirmed. Co-curator Lucia Savi described the objects as personal artworks that bring Anderson’s imagination alive.

The exhibition spans Anderson’s career, from Bottle Rocket to The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar. Visitors will also see work-in-progress materials and maquettes used in his creative filmmaking process.
The show originally premiered in Paris at La Cinémathèque Française before coming to London. The museum director praised Anderson’s design sense and storytelling as perfect for this special exhibition.
